Dr. Mahima Bhayana is a board-certified dermatologist with a strong interest in complex medical dermatology, skin of color, and clinical trial accessibility. She has a specialized focus in conditions such as hidradenitis suppurativa, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and other pigmentary disorders.

A firm believer in the importance of representation in clinical research, Dr. Bhayana has focused on addressing barriers to African American participation in dermatologic clinical trials and strategies to improve diversity.
Dr. Bhayana has presented at national conferences, published in peer-reviewed journals, and served in ambassador roles for the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and Young MD Connect. She is also a member of many professional groups, including the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA), the Skin of Color Society (SOCS), and the National Medical Association (NMA), among others.
An active volunteer and leader, Dr. Bhayana founded HUCM Cares at the Howard University College of Medicine, a program providing food resources for medical students on clinical rotations, and has held multiple leadership roles within dermatology, plastic surgery, and student government organizations.
In her free time, Dr. Bhayana enjoys exploring new restaurants, cooking Indian cuisine, traveling, and hosting events for friends and family.
